The walk

The route follows the canyon road beside the South Platte River. We’ll look for sheep on the rocky ledges and birds along the river, using binoculars to watch without approaching wildlife.

Allow about four hours for the outing. The road climbs gradually, and the walk includes regular stops for wildlife viewing. Route length and meeting details are confirmed before booking.

Bighorn sheep live in the canyon, but sightings are not guaranteed. We keep our distance and avoid blocking animals’ paths.
